How To Verify PayPal Account

It’s no more a rumor that PayPal has accepted Nigeria but is very difficult to link Nigeria Debit Card with it due to certain error. Now I’m happy to tell you they have resolved that error and you can now link your Naira Master Card to your PayPal Account easily. Although, it is not possible yet to send money directly to other PayPal users and you can’t receive payments directly to your PayPal account, at least for now, you can pay for products and services on sites that accept PayPal.

How To Verify PayPal Account in Nigeria Using Naira MasterCard

» Log on tohttps://www.paypal.com/ng/ and click on “Sign Up

» Click “Open an Account” for Individual account type

» Fill in your details including a valid email address you’ve never used on paypal.com

» Click the “Agree and Create Account” button

» You might see a security challenge, type the characters you see in the image and click “Continue“.

» You will then be prompted to enter your card details. Enter the card number, the expiry date and the 3 digits at the back of the card in the spaces provided. Ensure the billing address matches the address you used to open your bank account.

» Click “Continue” to proceed to your account.

» Sign into the email account you used to register and click on the “verification link” in the mail sent to you by PayPal. This might prompt you to enter your password for you to sign into your PayPal account.

» Once signed in, click the ‘Get Verified” link or the “Link and confirm credit or debit card” link.

» You will be redirected to a new page to confirm your card for verification. The card type, the last four digits of the card to confirm and the billing address will be displayed. Click on “Continue” to proceed.

» After clicking “Continue“, PayPal will charge the card $1.95 (about N320) to make sure it’s yours PayPal, but don’t worry your money will refund within 24 hours after you confirm your card.

» Wait for the debit alert from your bank via SMS or email and you will see a 4-digit code associated with the PayPal charge, it looks like (PP*1234CODE).

» Just note the 4 digits code inside it like that 1234, log back into your PayPal account and click “Confirm my debit or credit card.

» Enter the 4-digit code from your card statement in the space provided and click “Confirm Card” button.

» If successful, you will see the confirmation message as in the screenshot below.

» And your PayPal account status should now turn to Verified.

It is simple as that. You can now start using your PayPal account to buy goods or paying for service online. No need worrying yourself about funding the PayPal account for now. When you use it to make payments, the credit or debit card linked to the PayPal account will be charged.

  1. Your PayPal acct won't be credited with dat, rather ur money will be refunded 2 ur back acct soon. Since u ave Linked ur card 2 ur PayPal acct, with dat $0.0 on ur PayPal acct, you can buy goods or pay for online services, when you use it to make payments, the credit or debit card linked to the PayPal account will be charged. Remember dat u must ave required amount on ur Master Card to perform such operation.

    UBA. Still waiting for verification code. I got an SMS saying "Dear Customer, The ecchange ratw for your transaction of 195.00USD 1USD = 162.600NGN Wherever you go with your UBA Card!"

    Notice they claim to charge me 195 instead of 1.95 and I didnt get any 4 digit verification code.

  6. i tried verifying with my diamond visa card, i was charged and the notification was sent but i didnt get the code. the code was not attached.

  7. Since u ave successfully linked ur Card with ur Paypal . Don't mind that ur PayPal acct is $0.0, just log in to your-freedom acct, choose ur preferred package & in Payment option choose PayPal as your means payment. Follow the necessary instruction & u are done.

    The required charges will be deduct from the credit or debit card you linked to your PayPal. Remember dat u must ave required amount on ur Master/Visa Card to perform such operation.

  13. Yeah, it is not possible 4 now 2 upgrade your-freedom with NG Paypal acct but we pray dey consider us soon.

    For now you can use Perfect Money or Payza acct 2 upgrade ur freedom acct and u can also contact vendors 2 done it 4 u.

  14. Currently such feature is not available 4 Nigeria.
    Paypal doesn't allow Nigerians to add their bank accounts or receive money from other Paypal account users for now but you can use it for sending money.

  15. PayPal just allowed Nigerians to signup with their real IP but some valuable features are not yet add to it. I can't say much yet abt it with Forex trading but right now it suppose to be useful for funding forex acct.

    i was asked by pay-pal to submit some information like ID, Utility bill, which i did but till now they were unable to remove the limitation on my account , though it has been verified but, i can't use it due to the limitation on the account, what should i do plz, are other people facing the same issue too?

  28. I have tried using paypal on my GTBank mastercard but it did not allow me either. it gave me a message "this card not acceptable use a different card".
    I now think it will be better for me to use a Visa Prepaid Card in Nigeria. With this, I will be sure that it is the money that I load unto the card that I will be charged not exposing my whole current account to be charged. What do you think sir?
