After months of high hopes ntel 4G/LTE services. Finally, ntel is here with the launched of their first VoLTE service in Nigeria last Friday on 8th April. ntel is Nigeria’s most revolutionary telecommunications company which provides 4G LTE Advanced network that delivers super fast call-connect times, crystal clear Voice over LTE and extraordinarily high internet access speed (up to 230Mbps).

The ntel 4G LTE finally hits Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria and it would take some couple of months before Ntel 4G LTE reaches some other states in Nigeria. The internet access speed is amazing, those who purchased their sim card earlier can testify to it, up to 55.13Mbps on downloads and 24.40Mbps for uploads.

Here’s how you can reserve your custom ntel Number

  1. Go to their official website www.ntel.com.ng/reserve-generate
  2. Scroll down and click on “choose your own number”
  3. Next, fill in the important information in the field provided and once your number is ready, you’ll be contacted to pick up your personalized number. However, the available pickup states are Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt.

Below are the list of their data plans, tariff plans and prices, along with compatible smartphones.

  1. ntel Smartphone starter, offers unlimited data access, unlimited SMS with 30mins voice call which is valid for 3days. This offer goes for just N1,000.
  2.  ntel Standard plan, offers unlimited data access, unlimited SMS with 70mins voice call which is valid for 7days. This offer goes for just N2,400.
  3. ntel Monthly plan, offers unlimited data access, unlimited SMS with 300mins voice call which is valid for 30days. This offer goes for just N9,000.

Compatible smartphones include TecnoBoom J8, Tecno C5, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Konka L5 70S(R1)(R2)(E1), Phantom 5, Infinix Zero 3 and Infinix Note 2 (2GB Ram version). Since the listed smartphones are 4G LTE enabled smartphones, I can assume that their plans will be compatible with every 4G LTE enabled smart phones. Fair usage policy now attached to their unlimited data access, this is due to the fact that most individuals are likely to use their unlimited data access for commercial purpose. According to ntel, “customers likely to be affected by this policy are those who generate large volumes of traffic; often have file-sharing software or peer-to-peer/torrent apps on their phones or tablets; and download large-format files such as music, videos and movies consistently”. However, it’s also noted that any customer who uses above 3GB data daily would be slowed down to 512bps, if done continuously might get disconnected or blocked.

If you have already purchased their sim card and tested their network, kindly share your savoir faire about ntel services.

  5. Funsho thanks for the share as usual. This ngel data plan information is priceless as it is going to save most people from just jumping into it. Now at least now i know i should ready with my 4g phone first. Also for those thinking of crazy downloading it is clear it wont work. Funsho just showed us that they limit you once you hit 3G which makes sense because you trust Nigerians with abusing any thing browsing so thank you Sir God bless you

  8. Backing up data in advance is really important. Or you would have to use
lexar sd card recovery for help, which is really troublesome.

Nigerians sometimes easily give up hope. Just because the ntel looks so expensive, its not like that, they are just starting business and everything will come down later on. Guys, remember that's how other networks started before dropping down. This is 4g and not 3g,but as time goes on I believe Nigeria, even the masses will start to enjoy it

  10. Hi Mr. Funsho Kolawole. I am O'seun Ogunseitan. I think you should add that to be able to use the nTel lines as a mobile phone, users need not just a 4G mobile phone, but also a 4G Mobile phone that also supports VoLTE that is Voice over LTE. Of course for now, not too many Android Phones support the VoLTE by default.

There is a VoLTE Emulation Software already for Android phones. But it is very selective in its full compatibility It is available at apk.koplayer.com/download-Smart-VoLTE-for-pc.html. Hopefully, in a few months time though, a more widely compatible VoLTE emulation App is likely to be available to enable most 4G Android Phones to emulate the VoLTE.

Also I think prospective customers also need to know that nTel's mobile phones are only live in Abuja, and parts of Lagos and Port Harcourt. The nTel line is therefore for now, useless in most parts of Nigeria. Having said this, the nTel looks most promising to deliver the best service across Nigeria and at the shortest possible time too, having inherited the defunct NITEL's assets in virtually all local government areas in Nigeria.

  11. Wtf,so you can't download anything above 3Gb,that's just plain terrible. 512bytes??? Are you kidding me? Can someone clarify this because if true, this is beyond bullshit.

  12. Fuck you ntel.. Imagine them saying they will reduce the speed limit to 512mbps after one used 3G in a day.. What kinda unlimited bundle was that… To hell with you carry ur unlimited go to hell. Ur not welcome for ur bad policy.
