Just as promised, Tecno have finally unleashed official Android Nougat 7.1.1 Over The Air (OTA) update for its beastly Tecno Phantom 6 Plus.
The update is very cool and superb, even more than what phantom 6 plus users expected. Phantom 6 plus users can now enjoy all the features of Android Nougat they must have read about or seen from other device running Nougat.
The new software update is available via OTA (Over The Air), and it weighs in at around 1.7GB in size. You probably need to connect to a fast Wi-Fi network or subscribe for at least a 2GB data plan for the download, charge your battery to at least 80% before proceeding with the software update.
I’m sure by now most users of the phantom 6 plus must have rooted their phone to get the best out of it. If you are to update or upgrade your device to this latest OS, you must unroot and return back to stock recovery inorder to avoid bricking or crashing your phone during the upgrade.

Once the above requirements are met, go ahead with the below procedures
- Go to your phone “Settings”
- Scroll down to “About Phone”
- Click on it and tap “System Update”
- Your device will check for update and you will be prompted to upgrade your device Over The Air.
- Now, tap on “Download icon” for the download to begin.
Relax and wait for the download to complete 100%. After successful installation, your phone will be rebooted and Android 7.1.1 Nougat will smile to you on the device! Take note that the first booting process might take a few minutes to complete.

Rolling out Android Nougat to the Tecno Phantom 6 is good but how about the other tecno phones why cant the update be pushed to them too just the way infinix does it, thats one feature the infinix has over the tecno phones and internal storage too.
