Meet the First Nokia Smart TV Launched with 55-Inch 4K UHD Screen, JBL Audio, Powered by Android Pie

The first of the Smart TVs called the Nokia 55-inch Ultra HD (4K) LED Smart Android TV with Sound by JBL was launched today in India. It was built by Flipkart with brand licensing from Nokia.

This Smart TV is not a product made by HMD Global who has a license to manufacture Nokia-branded smartphones but is the result of another licensing-agreement between Flipkart and Nokia for the former to make Smart TVs with the Nokia brand name. So this is actually a Flipkart product. The retail giant handles the manufacturing, distribution, and sales of the TV.

Being a smart TV, it runs the Android 9.0 Operating System for its UI, which will allow users to access a host of apps on the Android TV Play Store. In terms of audio, the Smart TV is equipped with JBL’s (a known audio electronics based company) audio technology to deliver superior sound quality and packs 24 Watt speakers. The audio quality is one of the main selling points of the TV as it also features Dolby Audio enhancements for a better overall audio experience.

Other key features of the Nokia branded smart TV includes a quad-core processor paired with 2.25GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Additionally, the device offers a bunch of different ports for connectivity which includes HDMI and two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0). It is also equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi.
