List of Samsung Phones That will Receive Official Android Pie Update

Android Pie has been released for several devices from many manufacturers, either in stable or beta status and I’m sure most of Samsung’s Smartphone owners will be looking forward to getting the official taste of the Android Pie, despite the fact that Samsung has a poor track record in terms of speedy software updates. With Android 9 Pie, Samsung has not disappointed. As 2019 is just 5 days away, Samsung has now detailed their official One UI (Android 9 Pie) update roadmap which includes devices like the Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 9, and many others.

In January 2019, the first set of Samsung smartphones will get Android Pie. But when they do, beyond the improvements that come with Android 9, Samsung eligible phones will also get the new custom skin that replaces Experience UI. One UI, as the new skin is called, brings a whole new visual and interactive experience to Samsung phones. Samsung Phones on the Android Pie Update List and The Rollout Schedule There are 24 devices on Samsung’s Pie update list. Here they are:

  1. Galaxy S9: January 2019
  2. Galaxy S9 Plus: January 2019
  3. Galaxy Note 9: February 2019
  4. Galaxy S8: March 2019
  5. Galaxy S8: March 2019
  6. Galaxy Note 8: March 2019
  7. Galaxy A8 2018: April 2019
  8. Galaxy A8+ 2018: April 2019
  9. Galaxy A7 2018: April 2019
  10. Galaxy A9 2018: April 2019
  11. Galaxy Tab S4 10.5: April 2019
  12. Galaxy J4: May 2019
  13. Galaxy J4 Plus: May 2019
  14. Galaxy J6: May 2019
  15. Galaxy J6 Plus: May 2019
  16. Galaxy A8 Star: May 2019
  17. Galaxy J7 2017: July 2019
  18. Galaxy J7 Duo: August 2019
  19. Galaxy Xcover 4: September 2019
  20. Galaxy J3 2017: September 2019
  21. Galaxy Tab S3 9.7: September 2019
  22. Galaxy Tab A 2017: October 2019
  23. Galaxy Tab Active2: October 2019

As seen from the above Samsung Android Pie update list, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus owners will get the update first in January 2019. Galaxy Note 9 users are up next on February 2019. And the rollout to different devices continues all the way to October 2019.

Note: Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ users in Europe has now received the official Android Pie update. So, if you are in Europe, you don’t need to wait till January 2019, you can search for the update now on your device. It Weighing at around 1.7GB.
