Tecno Mobile, a Transsion Holdings company, has a stranglehold on the Nigerian market because of its enviable reputation for producing high-quality smartphones at an inexpensive price. So it should come as no surprise that the Chinese firm has quietly launched the Spark 8 smartphone in Nigeria.
The Tecno Spark 8 is the successor to the Spark 7, which was released in April of this year and featured the Helio A25 processor. The device is a low-cost smartphone with basic features. The upgraded Helio P22 processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage in the new Spark 8.
The Spark 8 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The 8-megapixel selfie camera is housed under a waterdrop notch on this display. The phone has a new design at the back, which contains an unusually large square module. Not only does the module house a dual-camera system and quad-LED flash, but it also houses the fingerprint sensor on the back. Four more camera sensors of the same size may be crammed into the extra area, pun intended.
A 16-megapixel primary sensor and a QVGA lens make up the dual-camera system. A microSD card slot allows users to extend the storage capacity of the device. It’s powered by Android 11’s Go edition. A huge 5000mAh battery powers the device and supports 10W charging through a micro USB connection.
The Tecno Spark 8 is allegedly available in Nigeria for 55,000 Nigerian Naira. We don’t know when Tecno will sell this model in other regions.
